This Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at the Saïd Hajji Cultural Center in Salé, Morocco, a new chapter in South-South cooperation opened. The Salé Foundation for Culture and the Arts and the Regional Center for the Performing Arts in Africa (CERAV/Africa), a category 2 center under the auspices of UNESCO, signed an ambitious and promising Framework Cooperation Agreement for the benefit of the African cultural sector.
This agreement aims to sustainably strengthen synergies between the two institutions around shared objectives:
✅ Promotion of the performing arts on the continent;
✅ Exchange of expertise and networking of African cultural actors;
✅ Joint organization of workshops, symposia, seminars, and residencies;
Support for staff capacity building through internships, scholarships, and training;
✅ Sharing of documentary resources and specialized equipment;
✅ Support for training, research, and the development of cultural and creative industries;
✅ Technical support missions to States and cultural civil society organizations on the continent.

This strategic partnership establishes the city of Salé as a committed player in the dynamics of contemporary creation in Africa, while strengthening CERAV/Africa's role as a pan-African platform for promoting the performing arts. This is a major milestone for South-South cultural cooperation and a strong signal in favor of the development of inclusive and sustainable cultural policies on the continent.
