A regional workshop on infrastructure and equipment for the performing arts in Africa

From May 16 to 18, 2022, the Regional Center for the Living Arts in Africa (CERAV / Africa), UNESCO Category 2 Center based in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso organized in Dakar, Senegal, a regional workshop on infrastructure and equipment for the performing arts in Africa.

Placed under the co-presidency of Mr. Abdoulaye DIOP, Minister of Culture and Communication of the Republic of Senegal and Mrs. Valérie KABORE, Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism of Burkina Faso as well as the sponsored by Mr. Youssou NDOUR, Minister Counselor to His Excellency the Presidency of the Republic of Senegal, this regional meeting brought together more than fifty experts, professionals and artists from 15 African countries (Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Congo-Brazza, Côte d'Ivoire, Gabon, Guinea, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Senegal and Togo) and two European countries (Belgium and France).

The general objective of this reflection workshop on the functioning of performing arts infrastructure was to contribute to the emergence of new policies and strategies for the development of strong and dynamic cultural and creative industries in Africa.
