Presentation of CERAV/AFRICA

The Regional Center for the Living Arts in Africa (CERAV / Africa) based in Bobo-Dioulasso (Burkina Faso) is the result of a desire to offer Africa a support structure for the implementation of the Convention of 2005 on the protection and promotion of the diversity of cultural expressions and specialized in the promotion of the performing arts as well as cinema and audiovisual. This will was materialized on June 14, 2010 in Paris (France) by the agreement concluded between the Government of Burkina Faso and UNESCO.


CERAV/Afrique is a Category 2 Center with a regional vocation, officially created in Burkina Faso by decree n°2014 – 883/PRES/PM/MEF/MCT of October 3, 2014, with the status of a public establishment of the State of a scientific, cultural and technical nature (EPSCT).


CERAV / Africa is placed under the technical supervision of the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Tourism and under the financial supervision of the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Development of Burkina Faso
