To mark World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, CERAV/Africa organized a public lecture on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the Bobo-Dioulasso House of Culture, centered on the theme: "Cultural Diversity: A Key to Harmonious Development."
Led by academic researchers and experts, the event provided an opportunity for students and participants to reflect on the role of culture in fostering peace, social cohesion, and sustainable development.
During the discussions, the speakers highlighted the importance of intercultural dialogue, social cohesion, and the promotion of cultural identities as drivers of national stability and prosperity.
In the context of Burkina Faso—a country rich in ethnic and cultural diversity—speakers also reiterated that traditional mechanisms for dialogue and solidarity remain essential tools for strengthening peace and addressing current challenges.
Through this initiative, CERAV/Africa reaffirms its commitment to promoting culture as a factor for unity, mutual understanding, and harmonious development, stated the Delegate General, Mr. Wendlasida Herman Pouya.
