Mr. Wendlasida Herman POUYA, Delegate General of CERAV/Afrique, received the UNESCO Friends Club of Nazi Boni University (CAU-UNB) from Bobo-Dioulasso on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at the CERAV/Afrique headquarters.
The meeting aimed to thank CERAV/Afrique for its ongoing support of the Club’s activities and to introduce the new CAU-UNB executive board, along with its activity program for the 2026–2028 period.
Speaking on the occasion, the Club’s president, Mr. Moumouni DABRÉ, stated that the new board—comprising about ten members—is tasked with implementing a forward-looking and diverse program of activities over the next two years. He highlighted that the program includes numerous initiatives designed to promote UNESCO’s ideals within the academic community and among young people. To this end, the Club sought CERAV/Afrique’s support for the implementation of its various activities.
In response, the Delegate General of CERAV/Afrique congratulated the new board members on their election and commended the quality and richness of the proposed program. He reiterated CERAV/Afrique’s commitment to supporting cultural actors, young people, and students—particularly when their actions contribute to promoting UNESCO’s values and distinct identity, a mission that aligns perfectly with that of the Centre itself.
Mr. Wendlasida Herman POUYA assured the Club’s leadership that CERAV/Afrique stands ready to support them, within the limits of its resources, to help ensure the success of their activities.
Taking this opportunity, the Delegate General also invited the Club members to widely disseminate information regarding the CERAV/Africa Resource Centre. He encouraged them to make this hub of knowledge and documentation their own—a space designed specifically to meet the needs of students, researchers, and cultural practitioners.
For their part, members of the Nazi Boni University UNESCO Friends Club reaffirmed their readiness to support CERAV/Africa in its initiatives and to contribute to promoting UNESCO’s ideals through their various activities.
This meeting reflects the quality of the relationship between CERAV/Africa and the UNESCO Clubs movement, as well as their shared commitment to promoting culture, education, dialogue, and development for the benefit of youth.
