The Regional Centre for the Performing Arts in Africa (CERAV/Africa) attended the official opening ceremony of the 10th edition of the Cultural and Creative Industries Promotion Days (JPICC 2026), held at the National Museum of Burkina in Ouagadougou.
Led by its Director General, the CERAV/Africa delegation participated in the ceremony alongside various officials and executives from the Ministry of Communication, Culture, Arts, and Tourism, as well as numerous stakeholders from the cultural and creative industries.
Presided over by the Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts, and Tourism, the opening ceremony marked the official launch of this 10th edition, dedicated to promoting talent and cultural heritage, as well as developing the cultural and creative industries in Burkina Faso.
Following the official speeches, the Minister performed the symbolic ribbon-cutting, thereby inaugurating the exhibitions. A tour of the various stands was a highlight of the opening event.
The Minister visited the CERAV/Afrique stand, taking a keen interest in the center's initiatives to build the capacity of cultural stakeholders and promote the diversity of cultural expressions. Following the Minister's visit, the center's stand drew large crowds and sparked significant interest among visitors.
Cultural professionals, artists, students, partners, and the general public visited the site to learn about the Centre’s mission and programs, as well as its Resource Centre—which was specially relocated for this edition of the JPICC.
The CERAV/Afrique team welcomed visitors in a friendly atmosphere to discuss the Centre's activities, answer questions, and present the many opportunities for collaboration, training, and capacity building available to cultural practitioners.
Visitors were able to explore a rich selection of specialized publications covering cinema, theater, dance, music, cultural heritage, and many other fields of arts and culture.
